Do-Overs and High Fives…the new shoes edition

by Liz on May 8, 2009

It’s friday again.  This always provokes a double take for me- Yea it’s friday, but where did the week go?!?
So- as promised here’s a weekly round up of my High-Fives and Do-Overs- though I’m changing the order to Do-Overs and High Fives…. seems better to end on a positive note!
Do-Overs:
Well, it’s recital time at the violin studio, so my son and I have been working VERY hard on his recital piece.  Like many musicians, he was rushing the hard licks- which he can TOTALLY play (when he’s not rushing them!).  He was getting frustrated, I was getting frustrated,  so I practically yell at him, “JUST RELAX!”   not so relaxing I’m thinking….
I’ve been up way too late on the computer this week- some work stuff, some wasting time clicking all over the web…. it’s only a problem when I wake up tired and cranky, which has been more often than not this week.
I dropped the ball getting a notice into the school newsletter about my summer special…  And I still haven’t called the person at another school that I need to talk to about this.  UGGG….
High-Fives:
The weekend with all the grandparents went well.  May Faire was cancelled on Saturday morning- necessitating a Plan B- but everyone survived with no major trauma.
New shoes!  My mom was here so we went SHOPPING!  I never thought of myself as one of those women who loves shoes… but it turns out I am a closet Imelda… or maybe a Carrie? Except that I don’t do heels… my favorite shoes are Boulder chic- very different aesthetic!
Spring has sprung for real here.  My tulips are up, the early lettuce crop has been planted (NOT by me!) and my herb garden is coming back to life.  Even the rosemary, which I was told is best considered an annual in Colorado, is back.
(I can’t really take credit for any of this- but I’m loving it, so it counts as a high-five!)
What about you?  What do you wish you could do-over from this week?  And what can your community of moms give you a high-five for?
Post a comment to let us know!  (or at least tell me if you like my shoes!)

Have a GREAT weekend and a FABULOUS Mother’s Day!!!

Hey, Liz! Love the shoes — they’re so cute!

For me, do-overs is spending too much time on the computer.

High Five, though: I cooked dinner for the children . . .

Good luck with the recital — my kids have theirs this weekend too. Blessings to you — love your website! -Laura
