That resonated with me. That resembles me. :-) Sometimes I really truly think there's a chance for "yes." So I sort of sit in an unspoken "maybe" purgatory ... But the majority of times I need to swiftly say "thanks, and no." (There's a conflict or something far too hard to orchestrate to get to a "yes." And the effort or planning or whatever just doesn't move me.) An immediate no would clear the task out of my in-box, off my to-do list, out of my mental file of undone things. :-) “Postponing the no.” That resonated with me.
